The Color of Sunset Dazzles Us for 3rd Place

It’s amazing what colors a sunset can create from day to day. This sunset in particular from Vacation Quest member Randel R. is almost unreal – painting the sky and water a soft pink and purple. No wonder our Executives voted it for third place in the Shoot for the Stars Landscape category!

He submitted so many other good ones from his trip to Aruba as well, it was hard to pick a favorite. Randel spoke with us about his stay at Casa Del Mar and gives us some inspirational words on traveling.

How did you capture this amazing sunset?

Casa del Mar is right there on the beach and it’s known for their sunsets. We’d spend every evening checking out sunsets before we headed out for whatever we were going to do that night.

“I caught the Sun today.”

The photos all turned out good. I had taken photos in other destinations, but the ones in Aruba were hard to beat.

What other places have you visited with the membership?

With Vacation Quest, I visited the Cayman Islands last month. I’m going to Cancun in about three weeks. I’ve been to St. Maarten, Cabo, the Bahamas and South Padre Island, too. I try to take advantage of the membership and use it whenever I can.

“Seek to ‘sea’ more. – Little Bay Beach, St. Maarten.” – Randel R.

I’d like to go to Europe and the French Polynesian, places like that. But you spend most of your money on plane tickets.

Why do you love to travel?

I figure if you don’t make the time to do it, you won’t. It’s now or never.

I’m in my late 30s so I still have some use to me. It’s interesting how I go to these nice places on vacation and, looking around, I don’t see a lot of young people. I want to do these things in my best years. You’re not promised tomorrow, so that’s my mentality on traveling.

That’s what the travel club is all about. It sounds like Randel is getting a lot of good use out of his membership and we hope his words and photos encourage you to do the same!
