Vacation Quest Review: A Resort with All the Goods in Texas

Holly Lake Ranch, Texas, a watery town two hours east of Dallas, is beautiful destination for nature lovers who want to escape the big-city rush. Vacation Quest member Cheryl W. recently spent a week at the Holiday Inn Holly Lake Resort (formerly known as Silverleaf’s Holly Lake Ranch) and came away refreshed and ready to tell us about her trip in this week’s Member Monday!

Where would you recommend a fellow member to go to…
Eat:
The resort clubhouse and Red Rooster Icehouse in Hawkins.

Shop:
Winn-Dixie.

Have fun/attractions:
Any of the activities the resort offers for the occasion you are there, such as Halloween, summer, etc.

What was your favorite…
The kids lived the swimming pool and clubhouse activities.

  • Paddle boats

Why did you choose this destination? Were you traveling for a special occasion?
We chose this destination because it was close to home. It was just a spur-of-the-moment decision.

What was your favorite memory of your vacation?
Relaxing by the pool.

Any tips for a traveler going to this resort or destination? Anything you think they should bring?
We didn’t need to bring anything. The resort provided everything but food and toiletries!
