Vacation Quest Review: Friends and Family Winter Getaway to Banner Elk, NC

Though the conditions weren’t perfect for skiing, Vacation Quest member Dean W. still made the most of his time while staying at Blue Ridge Village in Banner Elk, North Carolina. He shows us that all you need for a great vacation is friends and family in this week’s Member Monday.

Where would you recommend a fellow member to go to…
Eat:

  • Banner Elk Cafe (great food)
  • Bayou Smokehouse and Grill (good food and beer)
  • Painted Fish Cafe and Beer Bar (great Sunday brunch)

Shop:
Tanger outlets in Boone, North Carolina.

Have fun/attractions:
Ski Sugar or Beech Mountain.

What was your favorite…
Resort/Condo Amenity:
It was close to the ski slopes.

Place to go in the destination:
Banner Elk Winery and Flat Top Brewing Company, just to sit down and have a glass of wine or beer.

Why did you choose this destination? Were you traveling for a special occasion?
This was a weekend just to spend family time!

Every year my family and another family go up to snow ski. The snow was not good for the weekend, so we enjoyed spending time together at the winery and brewing company.

What was your favorite memory of your vacation?
Sitting and drinking a glass of wine and having a beer with my family!

Any tips for a traveler going to this resort or destination?
Just relax!

Friends.
